Mind death
[edit]I was going to fix some of the hell wreaked upon this page, but it's too late and it's too much. Can anyone destroy the analysis section and take out the fancruft, pointless silly opinions, and most importantly POV that is spewing out of that section?--[[User:TheGrza|TheGrza]] 09:35, Dec 21, 2004 (UTC)
Without analysis & opinions, what would be the utility of an entry? Seeing what other people thought of a book is useful; otherwise we could just list the ISBN and give spoilers, self-satisfied for having read it first. That's why I searched for it. I already know the book from my own POV. Brodo 20:13, 29 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Summary
[edit]Is it just me or is the summary of the Book in complete. I don't see a reference to Hackworth's story. --Mtnerd 04:54, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Andrew..
[edit]I have found some external references recognizing the same things I have recognized in the "Failure of AI", and am working on a new version of the section which I believe will be shorter, cleaner, and better, with external references. --M. E. Smith 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Original research
[edit]This article was tagged in 2011 for containing original research.[1]
Large amounts of original research have been removed (e.g.[2][3]) have been removed, and the article changed since then, and the article is not making any substantial claims that aren't reasonably supported by the book itself. So I have boldly removed the banner tag and would request that if necessary editors should use more specific {{citation needed}} tags or discuss any issues they believe need further attention. -- 109.76.133.69 (talk) 02:33, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
- One issue I feel needs attention is real world perspective on the book, namely reviews, so I've searched for some to add to the article. reviewing Crytponomicon] Village Voice briefly summarized The Diamond Age as "a fine but somewhat inscrutable 1995 follow-up, about a future shaped by nanotechnology and the full-scale revival of Victorian culture". I hope to find more reviews and add them eventually. -- 109.76.133.69 (talk) 02:37, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
