Again, can't disambig Union Railroad because I don't know which is meant. --SPUI (talk) 08:59, 7 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I suspect the still-operating Pittsburgh railroad. —Matthew Brown (T:C) 18:04, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unit count discrepancy

[edit]

According to Marre, Louis A. & Pinkepank, Jerry A. (1989). The Contemporary Diesel Spotter's Guide. Waukesha, WI: Kalmbach Books. ISBN 0-89024-088-4. LCCN 88083625. OCLC 19959644., 246 of this locomotive type were built, yet the list in the article shows 349 total units. Which is correct? slambo 14:58, Jun 10, 2005 (UTC)

4 August 2013 expanding

[edit]

The MP15DC and MP15AC are very similar, they were combined here. If this is too much, deleting AC specific parts will make the article similar to MP15AC. Sammy D III (talk) 04:04, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Southern Railway

[edit]

There is no way that they bought 160 units as alleged in this article.

Only the 88 units sold to the Southern were ever under this corporate umbrella or that of the modern Norfolk Southern that resulted from their merger with N&W. Out of this group, 4 were sublettered for the CofG subsidiary, 3 for GSF, 2 for AGS, 9 for the CNO&TP, and 2 for the old Norfolk Southern shortline. But they all fall into that 88 unit total for the Southern Railway. Even if they didn't, that only adds up to 20 additional units which would bring us to just 108 locomotives. Just where were the other 52 MP15DC's supposed to have come from in your total count for the Southern Railway family?

And if you meant 160 MP15's in general instead of the MP15DC model specifically, no MP15AC's or T's were ever bought by the Southern Railway or any other component of today's Norfolk Southern system. And the 10 Reading MP15DC's went back to EMD after Conrail decided against exercising their purchase option at the end of their 15 year lease in the 1980's and didn't survive to be split between NS & CSX at Conrail's demise, so we can't even include the 6 or so units that they would've gotten to this total (Not that it would bring us anywhere even close to 160 MP15's for Southern or Norfolk Southern...). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.249.6.209 (talk) 17:04, 25 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Missing rebuilds section

[edit]

MP15Es have been made by NS from MP15DCs at a minimum.
