[edit]My breakdown of the collections does not precisely match what the Gallery describes. My intent was to give readers a quick overview of what they would actually experience if they visited the Gallery. — B.Bryant 15:09, 25 January 2004 (UTC)
I've added more on the history of the NGA, it's design and directors. Maecenas 2.27, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
"Pregnant Woman" and "Hanging globe" need more information. Is that just a random pregnant woman? Is it a sculpture? Who are they by, what is their context? --144.131.66.58 11:24, 21 September 2006 (UTC) (Rod)
This really needs a list of significant painters and their most important works, as in the Louvre, not just a list of expensive paintings. I know that the controversy over money has been politically significant, but the cost of patintings is not the most impotant issue in artistic terms. It also needs the names of the designer of the fog sculpture and the hanging globe.Grahamec 11:56, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
I've added pictures, somebody who knows more about art should thin them out (and add obvious omissions) --Grahamec 13:21, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Arthur Streeton-Golden Summer, Eaglemont 1889.jpg
[edit]Image:Arthur Streeton-Golden Summer, Eaglemont 1889.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

History section
[edit]Probably could add a section on major news, such as repatriation of the Indian and Cambodian objects in the past few years. Fork99 (talk) 12:07, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
