[edit]We already have List of physicists, which can mention whether a particular physicist is a theoretical one, so this page seems a bit redundant. --Lexor|Talk 00:05, 20 Feb 2004 (UTC)
Jesus?
[edit]Should Jesus Christ really be included in this list? I have never heard of any contribution he made to physics...
Stub?
[edit]How can you expand an article called "List of theoretical physicists" that already has a list of theoretical physicists?

Theoretical physicists in pop culture
[edit]I suggest such a section be created to deal with fictional physicists, such as "Gordon Freeman", who are currently listed with real physicists.--Lord of the Ping 19:04, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
Fictional theoretical physicists - DELETE
[edit]I cannot see this section doing anything but diminishing the genius and exemplary contributions that real people made over the millennia. Just because certain individuals have their whole universe tethered to the popular media, does not justify polluting advanced achievement.
This section should be deleted, or relegated to some popular English media page.

- Hello, I too generally disfavour the idea of fictional scientists in this article. However, we can (could?) include fictional theorists, with the given criteria (See elsewhere on this talk page). Ema--or (talk) 01:48, 7 September 2015 (UTC) PS There is a category page for fictional physicists. Ema--or (talk) 02:59, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
Slang
[edit]Although the popular term, Theoretical Physicists are physicists theoretically, while physics theorists are those who theorise about physics. Why not the distinction? Is confusing confusion not confusing? I think it is slang. ~ R.T.G 18:53, 5 September 2012 (UTC)
Cleanup
[edit]I think notability criteria should be applied in this article. Otherwise, this may be become a forum for self-promotion, trolling etc. Ema--or (talk) 01:50, 7 September 2015 (UTC) PS I also discuss this issue here. Ema--or (talk) 02:09, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
Why does the list stop?
[edit]Why are there no theorists listed born after 1977?
Trying to do research in which uni's recent theorists got their PhDs from. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sin Stalker (talk • contribs)
