Armstrong & Miller parodies of Blue Peter scandal apologies
[edit]I thought it may be worthwhile including mention of these sketches. They reflect the notoriety gained by the show due to the scandals. There are several sketches such as this: YouTube ID: S5Y-0C0p_9s — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:44B8:1124:6600:CC52:ABBE:43BA:1031 (talk) 10:44, 28 August 2018 (UTC)
Is Blue Peter a British or English TV show?
[edit]Blue Peter has always been filmed exclusively in England and throughout its first thirty-one years on the air, all of the presenters were English.
During its latter thirty-one years, i.e. from the late 80s onwards, its presenters included people from a more diverse background. However, I argue that the ethnic and national diversity of its presenters demonstrates tokenism, rather than any earnest intent to adopt a common British identity.
Hence the one Scot, one dual national Scot/Italian, two Welsh, and two Northern Irish presenters have made up just 9% of its air time, whilst the one Belgian presenter has had more air time than the presenters from any of the non-England UK nations.
That trend shows a person born in England is 87% more likely to be chosen as a Blue Peter presenter than someone born elsewhere in the UK.
It seems odd to refer to the nationality of the presenters as "English" but the show as "British". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.65.179.111 (talk) 21:27, 17 November 2020 (UTC)

Uri Geller???
[edit]"Blue Peter also offered breaking news on occasion [...] such as the first appearance of Uri Geller on British television."
Really? As I recall, Geller's first appearance on British TV was on a talk show hosted by David Dimbleby. It was the talk of our (primary) school the following day. I'm sure that if he'd appeared on Blue Peter prior to that, then he would have been old news.
I'll "be bold" and remove this unsourced claim. Please provide a reliable source if reverting or restoring it. Willemslie (talk) 12:25, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
