Who the fuck do you think you are?
Get this right: I didn't think the Noel Gallagher article was going to fly through the nomination thing.
I was looking for a bit of constructive critisism with which I hoped to raise the quality of the article, what I don't need is some prat taking digs at me because I missed the "t" off of "it". Good Lord! I'm typing with a broken arm, and I'll openly admit I'm not perfect anyway.
And, I don't know how slow you think I am, but that wasn't the only change I made after putting it up there. Most of it was removing POV.
And what have you ever contributed to that page?
Get over yourself, stop trying to be such a bigshot.
Yours etc.--Crestville 15:30, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Sorry man, that day was pretty rough and I was really pissed off. Accept my apologies. EDIT: This isn't a joke by the way. --Bash 00:24, 27 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- I was expecting some typical dead bitchy dickhead nerd response there. Erm, took me of guard a bit. Thanks for that. That's probably the most reasonable response I've had to an angry tyraid, so cheers. Sorry about yer bad day and sorry I was a bit angry in responding.
Cheers. EDIT: niether is this--Crestville 15:11, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Just a note that your work is appreciated. No one ever gave you a wiki-welcome I see, but welcome to the project. Justinc 00:03, 24 September 2005 (UTC)
- I'm just motivated wanting to keep Wikipedia clean and neat; it's a mess right now which is why you see me hanging around the Wiki Cleanup projects (oh and don't forget about sheer bordeom ;) ). Just doing my job. --Bash 04:29, 24 September 2005 (UTC)
In response to ""Could you point to some forum posts or articles or something that backs these problems up? I have run into many problems with Knoppix before (until I realized that all you have to do to get sound working is type "alsaconf" in the terminal), but for the sake of NPOV, please posts some sources, as it seems like these problems are your own. --Bash 03:48, 29 September 2005 (UTC)""

According to many other users which time, nor writing space will not permit me to copy to this location Alsaconf will not work in many situations with Knoppix when the soundcard is not detectable. Sometimes there is a *.ko file missing or other a dev files not being avaliable. Other times it is some kind of other error for which I have no explaination for. Thank you for your advice. --Masssiveego 10:53, 29 September 2005 (UTC)
Well, have I made any mistakes in my deletions? Vancouverguy 02:55, 7 October 2005 (UTC)
Heather Graham
[edit]Thanks for the warning on Heather. I thought I sourced that image, but I guess not and I could not find it again so I replaced it with a headshot, which is more reasonable for a fair use situation like Wikipedia. --Nv8200p (talk) 03:58, 9 October 2005 (UTC)
Image of Aristoteles
[edit]Hi Bash,
Thank you for your alert. I replaced the image of the good old Ari with another from the Louvre to avoid the hassle. Best Wishes, David Cruise 00:39, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
Fig1.jpg
[edit]Hi, I put several figures in the chapter on HV circuit breakers, I made them and they are of free use to wiki , NO COPYRIGHT attached, please don't delete, the article is of no interest without themDingy 01:54, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for removing that part again. It's not as if the talk page discussion on it was hard to find. ;-) Hopefully, we won't have to revert it too many more times. Thanks for letting me know about your changes to the article; I hadn't seen it right off hand on my watchlist (it has over 500 pages on it at present, so sometimes I miss individual changes). I'll keep watching the article to see if it comes back. --Idont Havaname 03:51, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
- Actually, it's pretty rare that I put pages up for AfD. I haven't been participating on there nearly as much lately as I have in the past, though I do still try to contribute often to discussions about changing AfD (e.g. Wikipedia:Deletion reform). In my view, Dan Hoyt probably deserves his own article since he's had a fairly good amount of news coverage; I'd say weak keep in an AfD for that article. As for the main Asian fetish article, I've thought several times about AfDing it (List of ethnic stereotypes attracted a lot of different editors, but it was deleted as inherently POV / not citing its sources, which is the problem Asian fetish has), but I've tried to stay optimistic that it would turn into a well-written, well-cited, NPOV article. --Idont Havaname 04:06, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
- I think that stereotype regarding "weaker" white men is probably common, but it certainly does need one or more scholarly references, as does everything else in the article, if it wants to stay. Personally, I've seen some Asians using this stereotype and others not. And there may be some truth to saying that white women reject the geeky guys before they get their jobs and get rich, but I would say that the term "who settle for Asian women because white women reject them" is definitely author's POV. "Settle for" is used more by people gossiping about their relatives; it should stay out of an encyclopedia article. You're every bit right in raising a criticism about that remark in the article; I'd say the article could use to explain some of the reasons behind that stereotype. (maybe it could start by mentioning Asians' usually higher emphasis on education and college degrees) --Idont Havaname 05:13, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
If you haven't seen already, I nominated the Asian fetish article at Wikipedia:Article Improvement Drive. After an comment war took place over there between myself and an anonymous editor, the probability that the AID will be effective has most likely dropped off. Since you have taken some interest in trying to improve the article in the past, I would like to encourage you to help regain a level of professionalism at the AID page with your supporting vote. Thank you. --Howrealisreal 13:15, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
Hey Nerd.... leave the f*cking pics of the SCC Justices alone and get a girlfriend (or boyfriend).
- Thanks TO220740 for actually noticing. These are images unlinked to any page, and if it isn't used, it isn't needed. These SCC justice articles already either a) have photos, or b) are marked for possible copyright violations. If you want to keep these images, please link them to the respective CSCC articles. Thank you. --Bash 22:59, 14 October 2005 (UTC)
A different version of this image, found here, contains a border with the words 'Smash Hits'. Based on that border and a note in the news archive of gensteps.co.uk. I'm guessing it's from June 1999 Smash Hits Magazine. I'd say it's not on the cover, so I'm not sure it would qualify as fair use.
- [1] Faye spoke of her dreadlocks ... She only had the dreads for 3 months though. ... H is on the front cover of the Smash Hits magazine and there is a two page interview about him. You also get a full page pic of Faye, which is great. It is easily worth the £1.25 asking price, don't miss the next issue when there will be a huge H poster!
There are also two similar and higher quality images, which are not cropped, located in the Faye Tozer gallery. It doesn't say the source, but the webmaster of the site might be able to answer this question. I'm not interested enough to contact them, so good luck. -- 12.207.53.96 23:08, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
I think you can probably call this one copyrighted and have it removed. 12.207.53.96 13:43, 8 November 2005 (UTC)
Ok, I'll mark it and speedy it up for deletion. But before we do, are there any pictures we could use that we know for sure are copyrighted, or even better, "free"? --Bash 01:17, 9 November 2005 (UTC)
An alternative image might be the cover of the CD-Single Someone like you. I think that may be fair use under Template:Albumcover. There is also a cover of [May 2001 Sky Magazine] and that would be Template:Magazinecover. I'm not sure either would be appropriate for this purpose, but at least they are not copyright violations. There are a couple of galleries of video captures which might also be fair use Template:Film-Screenshot or Template:Musicpromo-screenshot. 12.207.53.96 04:51, 9 November 2005 (UTC)
Fair use
[edit]Not everything that is copyrighted is automatically "fair use"; there are several considerations that need to be taken into consideration before being able to claim fair use. Please read Wikipedia:Fair use. Thanks, JYolkowski // talk 00:22, 20 October 2005 (UTC)
- In general, yes, especially for images that don't fall into one of the blanket categories for which we have a specialized template (logo, movie poster, etc.). A "fair use rationale" that explains how the image meets those four criteria is needed to ensure that our use is indeed fair. See Wikipedia:Image description page#Fair_use_rationale for examples. Cheers, JYolkowski // talk 01:39, 20 October 2005 (UTC)
- Hi I ifded the Zeta Jones imageImage:2003icp.jpg, it is copyrighted RF Callisto in the last link you posted [2], probably an independent photographer. Most commercial photographers if asked would only allow non commercial use which isn't compatible with Wikipedia. Arniep 21:11, 28 October 2005 (UTC)
- Hi currently I am adding free images uploaded to Wikipedia Commons by a hungarian film producer that she took at Cannes film festival. She says she has 100s so this will solve a lot of problems with people trying to find images as once we add a free image we don't really have excuse to use a fair use one. Arniep 21:28, 28 October 2005 (UTC)
- thinking about it, we don't have any excuse to use these commercial images as it is only fair use if you can't get a photo yourself or it is a non reproducable important event. As it is physically possible to take photos of actors at premieres and festivals I don't think we can claim fair use for any of these images. Arniep 21:33, 28 October 2005 (UTC)

Re:
[edit]Yes, I uploaded it for my page, but recently decided to remove it. Image:P32100102.JPG, too. Sorry I forgot to tag them, but they're mine. I'd actually like to see them guillotined. Any idea how to speed the process up, given that the images are useless? elvenscout742 19:56, 26 December 2005 (UTC)
No source
[edit]Hi Bash. Just wanted to point out that tagging a photo as {{no source}} might be easier than listing it for deletion at WP:IFD. After a week, if the uploader hasn't provided the source, the photo can be speedy deleted. (To make the deletion happen quicker, you can add {{db|no source for more than a week}}, but it's not required.) Cheers, dbenbenn | talk 04:23, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Angel Milk cover.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Angel Milk cover.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.
Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 03:54, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Split Screen in Pac Man.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Split Screen in Pac Man.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 06:05, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
Non-free rationale for File:Saeb salam.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Saeb salam.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:07, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
