I understand that you feel Myers-Briggs Type Indicators are the greatest thing since sliced bread, but please do not add personality types to biography article headers (see Wikipedia:Manual of Style). I noticed that you did it in the case of Linus Torvalds, if you did it in other cases, please clean it up. If you want to keep them in, do the following:
- Get a reference for each type classification -- who has classified this person and where was this classification published?
- Move the classification - with that reference - to a "Personality" section at the bottom or something similar. "XY has classified AB as foo in the Myers-Briggs personality type classification scheme based on ..."
I'd prefer to have this limited to the respective articles, though (e.g. ISTP), but also with references. --Eloquence
Your recent article on The Turbans was seriously in error and several of the other articles you put in today are extremely short and non-encyclopedic. Perhaps you need to do a little more research before committing to writing an article and also read up on the idea of NPOV, the neutral point of view. Ortolan88
I just removed your content for Linux zealot. It did not explain what a linux zealot is, even remotely. matt 06:25 Feb 5, 2003 (UTC)
You need to understand that this is a serious endevour to produce an encyclopedia. I have had to alter or delete several of your entries. --rmhermen
- Yes I agree. --mav
- that's ok I like doing stubs sometimes they get through sometimes they don't. At least some people fix them up. I'd rather throw something in there and let someone else do the cleanup —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pagingmrherman (talk • contribs) 2003-05-06 04:58:06 (UTC)
- Clean-up is a lot of work. Most people would rather work on their own entries than clean up other people's messes. --mav
- ya but there are a *few* people that prefer to clean up rather than start anything new. Some of the largest trees can grow from a pile of shit!! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pagingmrherman (talk • contribs) 2003-05-06 05:04:04 (UTC)
- Please, In this case if you want trees it's better to plant seeds than spread shit. Perhaps a better metaphor is that much of what you've planeted has been noxious weeds, and you're imposing on others to check what you planted in any given place. Please don't put in random guesses or stuff you just make up. Usefull link: http://www.google.com Spend a little time looking something up, and you can probably find some good information to start or add to an article. Admin Nomination
[edit]Hello, I would appreciate your help by earning your vote as an admin. I have been here about 5 months now and have been nominated. I have made many contributions and have improved on my editing and behavior. I take this seriously, that is why I have gotten into it with Anthony so much. You can look at my user page yourself and see my contribtions. I would appreciate a vote in the yes column if you agree. Again, thanks for your time and help. ChrisDJackson 02:34, 13 Apr 2004 (UTC)
I saw the Breadbox article you recently created. While I applaud your efforts to improve Wikipedia, if you are making entries this short, you should really mark them with as stubs (or in this case, substubs). In any case, this article seems to be mainly a definition of "breadbox", so I am nominating it to be moved to Wiktionary. If you have more to add to it, go ahead, and remove the Wiktionary notice. Next time, if you want to add something like this, please do it directly to Wiktionary. — [[User:Knowledge Seeker|Knowledge Seeker দ (talk)]] 19:16, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Request for edit summary
[edit]When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.

The parks and recreation lists the distance from the Bridge to Hiram Walker on its bike trail, every few hundred meters, with decimals, such as 1.1, 2.0, 3.5, meaning the distance from the bridge, or distance to it. Even the Ganatchio Trail has "20.7" and 20.3" on it near Sandpoint Park. Riverfront Trail has "5.8." at its present eastern end, the junction with Lincoln Avenue, Riverside Drive, and the bike lanes.

Oh well, maybe it is, I used the 'measure distance' thing in MS Mappoint and it came out to 5km and I thought I read it in the Windsor Star before.

So, could you fix the article please as it is incorrect?

I added sour candies to candy and someone took it out. So I guess they've decided sour "candy" isn't candy.
Don't let them get away with that without making them find a source for you! AFAIK being sour doesn't disqualify sour sweets like skittles from being candy.Zebulin 23:08, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Camelot.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Camelot.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 04:08, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Fsarchiver
[edit]You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
A tag has been placed on Fsarchiver requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
at the top of the article, immediately below the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate), and providing your reasons for contesting on the article's talk page, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay.
