I have a solution to this problem.
I wrote the Alon Weinberg page when I was still fairly new to Wikipedia, and when the rules about minor candidates weren't really spelled out. Since then, group discussions have brought about a viable compromise.
A while ago, I created a page entitled Green Party of Canada candidates, 2004 federal election, containing mini-bios for several candidates in a list format. I've been meaning to transfer this information to that page for a while; since you've brought it up, I'll do it now.
