Hello Bluemask/Archive 1 and welcome to Wikipedia! Hope you like it here, and stick around.
Here are some tips to help you get started:
- To sign your posts (on talk pages, for example) use the '~' symbol. To insert just your name, type ~~~ (3 tildes), or, to insert your name and timestamp, use ~~~~ (4 tildes).
- Try the Tutorial, and feel free to experiment in the test area.
- If you need help, post a question at the Help Desk
- Follow the Wikipedia:Simplified Ruleset
- Eventually, you might want to read the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines.
- Remember Wikipedia:Neutral point of view
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Good luck!
- Sorry about the lateness. Hope the tips are useful anyway. Best, Meelar (talk) 14:26, 13 Jul 2004 (UTC)
Please add a reason and sign your vfd entry for Community of Peace Academy on the vfd page, otherwise it is not a valid vfd nomination. Elf-friend 19:16, 1 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up. Blue Mask|Talk 19:33, 1 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- It's a pleasure. :-) I agree with the VfD nomination for that article, BTW. Elf-friend 19:41, 1 Aug 2004 (UTC)
The Humungous Image Tagging Project
Hi. You've helped with the Wikipedia:WikiProject Wiki Syntax, so I thought it worth alerting you to the latest and greatest of Wikipedia fixing project, User:Yann/Untagged Images, which is seeking to put copyright tags on all of the untagged images. There are probably, oh, thirty thousand or so to do (he said, reaching into the air for a large figure). But hey: they're images ... you'll get to see lots of random pretty pictures. That must be better than looking for at at and the the, non? You know you'll love it. best wishes --Tagishsimon (talk)
Article Licensing
Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:
- Multi-Licensing FAQ - Lots of questions answered
- Multi-Licensing Guide
- Free the Rambot Articles Project
To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
- Option 1
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
OR
- Option 2
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

Stub-sorting
Hi Bluemask - good to see you involved in the stub sorting. You're doing good work. But... it's worth noting that a lot of countries now have their own separate geo-stubs (most of them in the form country-geo-stub, e.g., Japan-geo-stub), and buildings get struct-stub rather than geo stub. There are too many to easily remember, I know, but it's worth trying out country-geo-stub in preview. If you could, it would help even more! Thanks Grutness|hello? 01:00, 12 Apr 2005 (UTC)
"Redshirt"
Just a note, one of your user subpages contains a link to Redshirt which has been changed to a disambig page. The information you probably were intending to link to is now at Redshirt (science fiction). --Dante Alighieri | Talk 11:06, Apr 24, 2005 (UTC)
Family Guy Wiki
Hi. I noticed that you have made several edits on the article "Family Guy". You may be interested to know that I have created a new Wiki that is exclusively about Family Guy. Knowing you are an experienced Wikipedian and Family Guy fan, I sure would appreciate your help contributing to the Family Guy Wiki. We started on May 9, so we are in the starting stages. City/Municipality redirects:
Hi Bluemask, if you're going to continue making redirects, these pages should make it easier:
- User:TheCoffee/Redirect/1 - Abra to Bukidnon
- User:TheCoffee/Redirect/2 - Bulacan to Guimaras
- User:TheCoffee/Redirect/3 - Ifugao to Misamis Oriental
- User:TheCoffee/Redirect/4 - Mountain Province to Samar
- User:TheCoffee/Redirect/5 - Sarangani to Zamboanga Sibugay
TheCoffee 16:34, 10 July 2005 (UTC)
- Heh, here's a way to make it even easier. You don't even need to copy the redirect text every time... for example, if you're doing redirects for Sultan Kudarat, just open up all the red links and paste #REDIRECT , Sultan Kudarat into all of them. :) TheCoffee 16:35, 11 July 2005 (UTC)

Japanese strategic planning for the Pacific (1905-1940) (cleanup)
I think reverting to an earlier edit of the article would solve most of the problems it has.

Klipspringer photo
Hey, Bluemask. I shot the picture myself, as well as one at waterbuck. I intended that they be copy-lefted; thought I'd clicked the right buttons when I uploaded, but apparently not. Anything I need to do? Marsden 21:57, 16 September 2005 (UTC)

Image re-marking
Hi. I noticed you re-tagged Image:Widowspeak1024.jpg and Image:Gray Hairstreak.jpg as unsourced instead of unlicensed. Both of them have "Xerraire" on the images themselves which is the name of the graphic artist that created them. One of them even says www.xerraire.com so I figured it was safe to assume that's where they came from. Is that wrong thinking? —Wknight94 (talk) 11:52, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

Pls visit AfD Cyberservices, and see an article created by the same "user" - AfD Philippine Cyberservices Corridor. Pls encourage more well known users to make a vote. I have a suspicion that there will be a flood of posts from anons, and new users in those two AfDs. Thanks. Wikipedia is not for promotion. --Noypi380 11:59, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

Image tagging
Greetings! I noticed you tagged a lot of untagged images as GFDL-presumed. However, in some cases I'm really uncertain whether that's the proper tag: for example, this one from the text looks more like a "with permission", as it doesn't state anywhere that it is released under GFDL. It's best not to tag anything at all GFDL-presumed if you can contact the copyright holder or the uploader to clear it up; it's shaky ground to tag anything as GFDL-presumed when you're not reasonably sure, as a lot of people don't realize the difference between "permission to use" and "permission to release under GFDL". Thanks, Mindspillage (spill yours?) 03:10, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
- I'll be careful next time. Maybe I'll re-tag all those I tagged with GFDL-presumed with no source or no license? What if the user stated that he or she took the picture? Do we have a boilerplate text to verify that to the user? (I'm not good in composing things, actually.) And since the image in question is unused maybe I'll tag that with Orphaned fairuse not replaced. -- bluemask 01:37, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
About my downloading image
Bluemask, I added the 1993 model of Toyota Corolla two months ago, I will not delete that image but it is show to other wikipedians. - ApprenticeFan - 05/13/2006 - 10:41 GMT
- Musta! -- bluemask 11:50, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
The title of this page has been changed recently from just Fraternities and Sororities in the Philippines to Table of.. to List of... I'd like to find enough history information on Fraternities and Sororities in the Philippines beyond simply chartering dates for individual ones to restore it back to Fraternities and Sororities in the Philippines or make a separate page with that information. About the only additional history I have seen is the dates (in the last 10 years) of various "truces". Any idea where to go from here either in English or Tagalog? Naraht 16:06, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
Carol Marcus
- from a subpage
I thought I should let you know that I've taken the liberty of editing your user page - I moved the article about Star Trek's Dr. Carol Marcus (I'm going to make Carol Marcus a disambiguation page, and so I'm editing pages with links). Dr. Carol Marcus is now listed under D. Sorry if I got that wrong, but I figured you were listing pages alphabetically by article name rather than character name, or she'd have been under M.... TheMadBaron 19:35, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for updating the page. You are right, I am arranging this page aphabetically according to article name. I am using a wordprocessor to arrange it for me when I dump in many Trek-related articles.
- In the case of Dr. Carol Marcus, may I suggest that it should be moved to Carol Marcus (Star Trek) so that it would be consistent with other disambiguations. -- bluemask 02:34, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
- You're right, of course. I've moved it again. TheMadBaron 06:16, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
Some images you tagged as GFDL-presumed
For your information: Image:SPL1.jpg, Image:Atrium2.jpg, and Image:SP02.jpg, which you tagged as GFDL-presumed, have been listed by me for speedy deletion, because they have no source. Although these might have been taken by the uploader himself, his history of proven text and image copyright violations makes this highly unlikely. Kimchi.sg 09:16, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
- If that was the case, I have no problem on it. :) --bluemask (talk) 09:33, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
