Input sought at Seattle Center

[edit]

Getting close to the WP:3RR on whether "the" belongs in front of "Seattle Center." https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Seattle_Center&oldid=1254861125 Additional editor input requested. (— 𝐬𝐝𝐒𝐝𝐬 — - talk) 01:50, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That article should definitely use "the Seattle Center". And IMO "the Smith Tower" is right too. PK-WIKI (talk) 16:52, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It could go either way IMO, places like their main website and websites of other organizations like the Vera Project, use "Seattle Center", but elsewhere in local media it's referred to as "the Seattle Center". It looks like usage varies on Wikipedia itself, so I'm inclined to just pick one or the other and stick to it. Sarsenet (talk) 04:41, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the PK-WIKI and I disagree! ;-) Seriously, does New York City have "the Central Park?" Admittedly in the Seattle cases usage does vary; I wonder if it's a matter of formal versus colloquial use? Or it might be a historical trend, if only long-time locals are still using "Smith Tower" and "Seattle Center." (— 𝐬𝐝𝐒𝐝𝐬 — - talk) 01:13, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
