[edit]- I moved this page from Giuseppe Verdi Compositions to get some uniformity in Category:Compositions by composer. David Sneek 11:53, 17 May 2005 (UTC)
Link to article about the film version of Inno delle Nazioni
[edit]Question to Vega2: Is there a reason why you changed the link from Hymn of the Nations to a link to Anthem of the Nations ? The latter article does not exist and the former one does. Is the the latter the correct title? If so then perhaps the target article should be retitled. I am in favor of switching it back if there is not a good reason for the new link. opus numbers
[edit]Can anyone find a list of opus numbers for Verdi's works? I've been searching but have had no luck. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.127.125.206 (talk) 19:52, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
orphan tag
[edit]The orphan tag on this page was removed, because the article itself links to many other articles. I believe this constitutes a wrong interpretation of what the orphan tag means. The orphan tag refers to the number of other articles which contain a link to this article: since there are only two other articles which contain a link to this article (try 'What links here' in the toolbox on the left) I believe the orphan tag is justified. Someone more experienced than me (I am relatively new to wikipedia) pls advise. Francesco Malipiero (talk) 21:53, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
- You're correct about the interpretation of the orphan tag. Also, there's only one other real article, not two, that links to this article. However, I don't think that the uses of the orphan tag is justified here, because this is one of those articles that is a spin-off from another article (a "daughter article", if you like). If it was merged (back) into Giuseppe Verdi it would lengthen and unbalance that article. The orphan tag is for articles which could be linked from more articles - but what other articles could this one be linked from? You could put a "See also" header and a link here into all the articles devoted to Verdi's compositions, but what's the point of that? There are lots of these spin-off aticles with only one link, for example, List of operas by Auber but there's no reason to tag them as orphans. Hope this helps. --GuillaumeTell 10:51, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
Sacred works
[edit]I can't see an order in the listing. It could be chronological. The Libera me became first part of the Messa per Rossini, then of Verdi's own Requiem. Only the Messa per Rossini was premiered posthumously, the Libera me was performed every time the Requiem was performed, - the sentence is a bit misleading but I would not know how to word it, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:44, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
15b or 23b?
[edit]Shouldn't 15b be 23b? 23x are for Don Carlo(s), 15x for Boccanegra, correct? Klm99ever (talk) 21:25, 26 February 2020 (UTC)
