[edit]As I understand, a junior college is a private school (not administered by local or national government). MK is administered by the Minister of education so it's not a Junior Collage.
Gymnasium describes what kind of school MK is (and most other schools in Iceland for students after the compulsory education). Most students finish with a Student degree. gumol
- Well you're wrong. It is not about whether it's publicly or privately owned or managed but whether it offers an undergraduate academic degree or not (which it doesn't). Icelandic gymnasia don't use the term gymnasium in their official English names, probably because English-speaking people wouldn't realise that they're not sporting institutions or like high schools in the U.S. but more like colleges. However not all schools at the same level use the term college in their English names. Stefán Örvarr Sigmundsson (talk) 21:29, 25 March 2013 (UTC)
