[edit]Why is this template a member of both Category:Templates for unprintworthy redirects and Category:Templates for printworthy redirects? – Uanfala (talk) 14:52, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Uanfala: Because the template inherits those by virtue of transcluding its documentation, which has examples of both. I don't really see the point of "printworthiness" so I don't pay much attention to that. wbm1058 (talk) 18:00, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
- Oh, I see. Those are both categorized at the bottom of the template documentation. Anyhow, the documentation explains how a misspelling in one context may be considered a correct spelling in another context, and thus be "printworthy". I think it's all too convoluted and confusing. – wbm1058 (talk) 18:07, 13 December 2018 (UTC)

Change display of correct form
[edit]If editor uses {{R from misspelling}}, then correct form should have link. Monniasza talk edits 08:31, 16 July 2019 (UTC)
- I've definitely seen numerous cases where some knucklehead has "fixed" a link by changing it from
[[Original misspelling]]
to[[Correct spelling|Original misspelling]]
, if that's what you're talking about. A database report of this antipattern would be good. ―cobaltcigs 22:49, 31 August 2019 (UTC)
Does anything happen when a page with this template is linked from mainspace?
[edit]I'd think we'd want a bot to alert the linker that they may have made a typo, or at least add it to a database of links that could be fixed. {{u|Sdkb}} talk 03:36, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
- I tried to construct this query with Petscan, but I failed. You might ask at Wikipedia:Request a query or a related forum to see if someone can write a quarry query for "mainspace pages that link to pages that transclude {{R from misspelling}}". – Jonesey95 (talk) 04:15, 22 September 2020 (UTC)

I also vaguely recall a tool for fixing such links semi-automatically, possibly part of WP:WikiProject Red Link Recovery despite the links being blue. Certes (talk) 11:00, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
