[edit]The British government asked a Sir Henry Willink QC to chair a Commission to recommend the best strategies for the development of the Nigerian Delta region. When the Commission turned in its report in 1958, it specifically recommended that the Niger Delta region deserved special developmental attention, leading to the establishment of a Niger Delta Development Board in 1960.
A Henry Willink also chaired Royal Commission on Policing in 1960, which recommended a considerable pay rise for beat bobbies.
I am not clear whether this was the same Willink - was he a barrister? Mtiedemann 01:39, 19 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Political Party
[edit]There's no reference to the individual being a member of the Conservative Party on the page. He is only referred to as an Independent MP. Therefore I am changing his Political Party from Conservative to Independent. 92.25.199.14 (talk) 16:41, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
- The lead says he was a Conservative until 1943. DuncanHill (talk) 17:39, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
- On closer inspection, the independent thing was a recent unsourced addition by an anon editor. I can find nothing to support it, and so have removed it. DuncanHill (talk) 17:47, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
- There are a lot of references to him being an independent on the page itself. Either they should all be removed, or the party should be updated to Conservative/Independent. Additionally the source for him being a Conservative lists him as being the Conservative Health Minister in 1943, however in 1943 there was a coalition government, not a Conservative government. Currently there is no source for him being elected as a Conservative MP, or being a member of the Conservative Party. Therefore I have set his party as Independent, however if a source can be found showing he was elected as a Conservative MP or was a member of the party this should be updated. 92.25.199.14 (talk) 20:51, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
- There are no references to him being an independent. In the wartime coalition MPs and ministers retained their party memberships and affiliations. Please stop. DuncanHill (talk) 20:58, 30 September 2019 (UTC)

Motto
[edit]It is hard to believe his motto was "Fides et Amo". Surely "Amor"? Seadowns (talk) 12:06, 20 December 2019 (UTC)
