There is another article 221B Baker Street with largely indentical material. We should at least consider merging the two articles and redirecting one entry to the other. I withdraw the suggestion. RJFJR 16:46, Dec 24, 2004 (UTC)

[edit]According to the article 221B Baker Street Baker street wasn't numbered until 1930, which is why we can't have a street number for Madame Tussauds. (I went looking for the address in Madame Tussauds and then realized why I'd never find it). RJFJR 16:46, Dec 24, 2004 (UTC)
The part about pedants and Paddington is odd since the Hammersmith and City line at Paddington is above ground, so of course you need to go above ground to transfer.
"pleasant smell of freshly baked bread (and freshly rolled cigars)"
[edit]I lived just off Baker Street for a year and never noticed that. Maybe this sentence refers to some period in the past? --Jcmo 15:01, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
- Me neither. Gone.
- There used to be a Europa store near McDonalds which had that fresh bread smell for a while - maybe that's what was being referred to. Not sure about the cigars though.--Popeyedoyle 14:13, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
Selfridges
[edit]Actually, Selfridges is on the corner of Oxford Street and Orchard Street. Baker Street only starts north of Portman Square.--Jcmo (talk) 13:50, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
Confusing Geography Bit.
[edit]The second paragraph of the lede is incredibly confusing to me. Maybe it is more clear for people who know the area but I read it four times and am still very lost. Is anyone capable of cleaning it up? Ayzmo (talk) 22:41, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
Constituency query
[edit]Was Baker Street in Marylebone East or Marylebone West in the late 19th century? Jackiespeel (talk) 14:02, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
